Hello,
My wife and I are the proud owners of 5 indoor cats. I have just found cats.com and im interested in getting them a healthier dry food. I’m looking for a budget friendly option that I can order through chewy’s. My cats currently go through a 20lb bag of purina cat chow complete a month and it costs around $25 dollars. Is there anything that would be healthier for them that would stay under maybe a $50 dollar price range?

Purina Cat Chow is not unhealthy, as long as your cats are fed the right amounts that keeps them at their proper weight, and as long as they drink plenty of water. Avoid falling down a rabbit hole with all the anti-carbohydrate and anti-grain rants on this site, and the people who want to see a human-like list of ingredients and galloping antelopes on the label. Purina Cat Chow is a balanced food, time and feeding trial tested, that has all the nutrients that your cat needs. And carbohydrates and grains are fine -- the real issue is feeding the right amounts, maintaining your cats' weights, and water intake. You're not going to find much cheaper dry food that is as good as Purina. Costco sells their excellent Kirkland Brand Maintenance Cat food 25 lbs for $27. Good luck.
