Hi all! We're currently living in the US and moving to the Netherlands soon. Does anyone know of a quality wet food sold in the Netherlands that is low in phosphorus for our kitties? Bonus points if it's a novel protein!

Hey Tarah, I did a little research and was able to find a few recommendations for you. I can't specifically speak to the phosphorus content of these foods, but I tried to focus on recipes that don't contain a lot of bone. If you want to learn more about phosphorus in cat food so you can narrow down the options for yourself, we have a detailed article here: https://cats.com/phosphorus-in-cat-food
As for the wet food recommendations, a couple brands that seem similar to what we normally recommend include: MAC's, Carny (by Animonda), and GranataPet. Both MAC's and GranataPet have a few recipes that include novel proteins like venison, rabbit, and duck but they're mainly mixed with common proteins like beef and poultry. GranataPet actually lists the phosphorus content for some of their recipes online, but it didn't look like MAC's or Carny did.
If you're looking for single-protein, novel-protein wet food you may be able to get Ziwi Peak canned foods in the Netherlands. Some people recommended Cosma Nature, Almo Nature, and Porta 21 as well. It looks like these brands mostly offer supplementary foods and it's a lot of fish and chicken.
Hope that helps you get started!
