@murfm31

Hello, and thank you for your question.

Generally, dim blue light at night won't harm your cat’s eyesight. However, keep in mind that some cats, like humans, may have sensitivities to different types of light. If you notice signs of discomfort, such as squinting, avoiding that specific area, or poor sleep, you may want to adjust the lighting at home.

Research-wise, some studies conclude that dim blue light may have some positive effects on cats' stress reduction, while other studies found that prolonged exposure to bright blue light can have negative impacts on sleep patterns.

A significant correlation was found between cortisol levels and behavior stress scores for cats on white light, but not on dim and blue-depleted light. Preliminary data indicate that female cats exhibited lower behavioural stress scores and cortisol levels in response to blue-depleted and dim light compared to white light. Male data is less clear, but trends in the same direction ( https://symposium.foragerone.com/mid-sure2022/presentations/47359 )

Further research is needed to fully understand the impact of blue light on feline health.

I hope that helps

Melina
