My cat is so stressed out from another cat that she urinates in my shower. Guess I should be happy she isn't doing it on the rugs. Anyone have any ideas? I feel so bad for her.

Hi Terri
Is your cat stressed out from another cat indoors or an outdoor cat? Can you provide a little more info so I can help you?
Thank you
Melina

Hi there,
Yes, we introduced my cat with my roomies cat 6 months ago. The other cat is aggressive towards my cat. My cat started to pee in the shower around 3 months ago. Oddly, she still uses her litterbox too. Thanks

Hi Terri
Thank you for the additional information.
Your cat is stressed and feels your roomie's kitty has compromised its territory and security, hence the intermittent peeing in the shower. It’s a good idea to visit your veterinarian as a backup to rule out any medical conditions.
I recommend adding hiding holes, more vertical spaces, and even installing a microchip cat flap door within the home (unless it’s a rental) so your cat has more space to escape and hide from the aggressive cat. It’s also worth plugging a Feliway diffuser and adding calming supplements like Zylkene to help with her anxiety. Lastly, having an in-home consultation with a cat behaviorist might be worth it. She can recommend a few more environmental changes to help your cat cope with the introduction and assist the aggressive cat in being a little less territorial.
I hope that helps
