I have a 16+ year old male cat that has CKD and hyperthyroidism. He had a bout of pancreatitis in the summer of 2023 and from there I started him on EN naturals. He is getting bored with this food and I am trying to find a wet food that will not exacerbate his symptoms. He prefers fish flavors but I think I could get him to eat chicken. Suggestions are greatly appreciated. BTW-he gets fluids every day and also gets transdermal Methimazole

From the info you provided, what to feed would be most important from the CKD perspective I would think, but would depend on what stage of CKD your kitty is in, if you know? Ultimately, the best food approach would be low in phosphorus. If your kitty is in early kidney disease moderate protein restriction is still okay. In later stage II and on, it's more important to be more protein restricted. For wet foods, regular protein percentage may be about 7-8% or higher. Moderate restriction between about 5-7%, and more restriction about 3-5%. A special diet isn't necessarily required for a single bout of pancreatitis but there is a percentage of cats with pancreatitis who also have inflammatory bowel disease which does require dietary therapy. I couldn't be sure if your kitty might be in this group. If so, a novel protein type may initially be helpful (essentially a novel protein is avoiding common proteins like chicken, beef, and white fish). Hydrolyzed prescription diets are the next step beyond that.
