I live in the florida keys. The feral cats and outside cats are losing their fur. I have an abandoned cat that has had covenia, bravecto plus and cortisone and is getting worse. Vet said not ring worm. What can i do?

If these feral/outdoor cats are all part of a colony, it would make the most sense that there is something they are all sharing. In most cases I would say fleas or sarcoptic mange (scabies). I don't know if you can fully discount ringworm but it would be unusual to see it in a large group of adult cats. It could also be possible that there is a shared nutritional issue or something like an allergen or environmental sensitivity they are all sharing. I was not clear if the "abandoned cat" you mentioned is part of this group or not. While your cat is certainly being covered adequately for mange and fleas, these could still be harbored by all the other cats if they're not on an appropriate prevention medication like the bravecto plus. As for your own cat, if you're seeing such worsening despite the treatments you've mentioned, I would still consider a ringworm PCR if it hasn't been done yet (relying on blacklights/wood's lamp is not very sensitive and the cultures that are commonly done can have false negative results but the PCRs are highly sensitive and results come back in just a couple days instead of weeks) or even a skin tissue biopsy.
@chris-vanderhoof thank you for your response. The abandoned cat lives outside at my house and is not part of a colony. Theferals that do live in a colony- some look fine and some are missing fur. I think the skin tissue biopsy is a good idea
@rparagusyahoo-com Since the cat is getting worse despite treatment, I’d suggest asking your vet about a skin biopsy or fungal culture to pinpoint the cause. In the meantime, keeping the cat in a clean, cool, stress-free environment might help.
