How to feed cat encore complementary wet food and complete tippaws dry food ? How much of them ? Or which complete food you recommend

Do you live in the UK or Europe? If so, we have a list of complete cat foods we recommend here: https://cats.com/best-wet-cat-food-uk

Hi Kasia! When feeding a mixture of complete and complementary food, it's best to aim for 90% of your cat's daily diet to come from the complete recipe and look at the complementary food as a treat. The simplest way to get a baseline idea of portions is to refer to the manufacturer's feeding guidelines.
Based on the Tippaws website, it looks like they recommend 10-20g of dry food per 1kg of body weight per day. Using the Turkey and Chicken Adult recipe as an example, a 5kg cat would need about 75g per day for a complete portion. You can find the feeding guidelines here: https://www.tippaws.com/products/turkey-chicken-adult
If you're adding a complementary wet food topper, you'd want to slightly reduce your cat's dry food portion to account for the calories in the wet food. I'd start with a 10% reduction, so for a 5kg cat you'd end up feeding about 68g dry food instead. Then you can start with 1 can or pouch of Encore per day, divided between your cat's meals.
Feeding guidelines aren't always exact, so it's important to pay attention to your cat's weight. If they're prone to weight gain, it may be better to underestimate. If your cat is active or underweight, it may not hurt to overestimate a little. Just stick to the same portions for a week or two and see how your cat is doing. If they seem hungrier than usual or lose weight, add a second can of Encore or increase the portion of Tippaws.
If you'd prefer to keep things simple, you could always try feeding Encore's complete dry food. That way the feeding guidelines would line up if you're also using Encore complementary wet food.
Hope that helps!
