An Unlikely Friendship Formed Between This Trio of Cats

Milo, Leo, and Pablo-compressed

When Milo, Leo, and Pablo were adopted, their mom had the same worries as many other cat parents. Would they get along, and what would happen if they didn’t like each other?

Cat introductions can be stressful and challenging, especially when you have multiple resident cats meeting your new cat. Luckily, Milo, Leo, and Pablo became close friends in no time–but that doesn’t mean they get along with just anybody. Their mom calls them the “mean boys” as, like in the movie Mean Girls, they’ve formed a clique and can be bullies to other animals in the home.

Milo’s adoption

Each of the boys was adopted from a different family. Milo came first, from a family who didn’t want him anymore. His mom didn’t know much about him in the beginning, as the shelter even told her he was a girl!

Soon, he was showing off his loving yet needy personality. Milo’s mom worried that her new, clingy cat was feeling lonely, so she set off to adopt another.

Here comes Leo!

The opportunity arose when their neighbor became pregnant and needed to rehome four cats. Milo’s mom couldn’t possibly take them all, but she opted to adopt the oldest, Leo. He was 1.5 years old at the time, and she worried he wouldn’t get adopted as quickly as the younger kittens.

When she brought Leo home, she feared that he and Milo wouldn’t get along, but they were friends within six short hours. That’s super fast, considering cat introductions often take weeks or even months.

The only thing Leo seemed to love more than Milo was food. His mom describes him as a big foodie and a cat with a sense of humor.

Completing the trio

They say that good things come in threes. This can apply to cats, too!

Years after the adoption of Milo and Leo, their mom’s friend reached out looking for someone to adopt her new kitten. She was pregnant and feared she couldn’t give him the care he needed to thrive.

Milo and Leo’s mom felt uncertain. Her now-senior cats got along so well, what if this new kitten threw off the balance? Could she get so lucky with cat introductions twice?

It turned out, Pablo the kitten was very sick. Upon learning this, she agreed to take him in and nurse him back to health.

While her partner wasn’t too happy about the new addition at first, Pablo won him over as cats tend to do. He chose him as his favorite person and best friend. Now he hangs out on his shoulders with his legs dangling, and both of his parents are glad to have him around.

Surprisingly, so are Milo and Leo!

The “mean boys”

Milo seems to be the ringleader in the trio’s shenanigans. When he is comfortable with another cat, they all get along well. When he dislikes another cat or animal in the home, he has his two companions to support him. Unfortunately, they do this by teaming up to bully the other animal!

Sassy Milo will even slap his humans if they do something he dislikes, such as picking him up or stopping him from misbehaving.

Maybe this trio of cats get along too well, but they’re adored by their human parents, who find their antics funny and their simple view of the world pure and calming.

You can see all that Milo, Leo, and Pablo get up to on their Instagram and TikTok accounts.
