SenSej the cat loves to go out with his dad, whether he’s eating at restaurants or meeting his online fans. People on the street are shocked by this cat’s friendly nature, and it’s earned him a large following on the internet as well.
SenSej the master
SenSej belonged to the family of one of his dad’s friends, and he agreed to watch him while they were away for a couple of weeks. But then, he fell in love!
He’s a dog person, so their attachment was a bit unexpected. However, he knew that he wanted to keep him–and luckily, he was able to.
His dad says that SenSej means “master” in Japanese, and that SenSej is definitely the master of his life! Isn’t that how many of us feel as cat parents?
SenSej has encouraged his dad to get out of the house more. He says he’s learned more about interacting with people and loves to see his cat’s curiosity as he explores the world.
He describes him as wise, curious, and adventurous. He changed his mind about cats and he now sees how unique their individual personalities can be.
He says that he has changed for the better since meeting SenSej and loves spending time with him.
Going on adventures
Since SenSej doesn’t like staying home alone, his dad brings him along when he can. Of course, this isn’t always possible.
They began going on their outings when they lived in Ukraine. His dad said it was more difficult then, because as a kitten SenSej was small and curious. He began training him in closed-off areas where he had more control over their environment, and could predict what would happen. This made things less dangerous for SenSej and let him get used to being outside.
As he grew up and their training continued, it was easier and easier to bring him along on different outings. He went from being carried around in a backpack to climbing up on his dad’s shoulder, and eventually they stopped bringing the carrier along.
Their trust in one another is why SenSej can do so many things with his dad. He says that he’s always ensured that SenSej feels safe with him.
Becoming a celebrity
People in real life are stunned by SenSej’s friendly attitude and his willingness to be out in the world and socialize with people.
When his dad saw how much people love him, he began to film their adventures. They gained a social media following of over 800k on Tiktok, and are also on other social media platforms.
SenSej’s dad dreams of a world where bringing cats out in public is more normalized, and he sees many cats on their outings together! He wishes that more people socialized their cats from an early age.
Of course, many cats wouldn’t like going out like SenSej, and his dad acknowledges this, too. Every cat has their own preferences and personality.
