Based in Poland, Calitti Cat Litter has limited availability in the United States. But for folks who live near a retailer that carries the brand, Calitti offers high-quality, affordable clay and crystal formulas.

With help from a feline tester, we’ve evaluated three types of Calitti litter over several weeks. Here’s what we learned.

Ratings

  • Price Per Pound – 5/5
  • Multi-Cat Formulas – 5/5
  • Clumping Ability – 5/5
  • Dust/Mess – 2/5
  • Easy to Scoop – 5/5

Overall Score: 4.4/5

Why Trust Cats.com

Our team has tested just about every kind of litter imaginable. We understand what makes a good litter, and what to avoid.

To assess Calitti’s performance, I purchased three bags and tested them in my home for several weeks. During that time, I observed my cat’s reaction and took note of the litter’s smell, clumping ability, odor control, and dust levels. I also considered the brand’s value and availability.

With so few reviews online, my goal is to present the essential facts so you can decide if Calitti litter might be a good fit for you and your cat.

Calitti Brand Overview

lineup of three Calitti litter bags

Calitti is a newer brand based in Poland. Liz Coleman / Cats.com

Founded in 2019, Calitti was developed to meet the different hygienic needs of cats. The creators drew inspiration from their two pets: Lala, the Scottish Fold, and Blues, the British Shorthair. Calitti litter is made in Poland and distributed by Holments, Inc., based in Illinois.

The name Calitti combines “cat litter” and “quality,” reflecting the brand’s proud stance on its products’ performance.

Because the brand is based in Poland, it’s relatively hard to find Calitti at U.S. retailers. It’s not available through the company’s site, and I couldn’t find it at any major pet retailers like Chewy or Petco. Calitti’s crystal formula was the only litter available on  Amazon and Walmart.

I ended up purchasing three bags of Calitti Litter from Jeffers Pet, a pet and livestock retailer with two locations in Alabama and Florida.

What Kind of Litter Does Calitti Offer?

Calitti offers several types of litter to accommodate different preferences and needs. Their lineup includes:

  • Non-Clumping Crystal Litter (micro and regular)
  • Unscented Clumping Economy Litter
  • Clumping Standard Litter (unscented and lavender)
  • Clumping Extreme Clay Litter (unscented and lavender)
  • Clumping Fresh White Clay Litter

On the company’s site, the brand also appears to have developed two natural litters made from corn and wood fiber. However, I could not track either formula down, and it seems Calitti does not offer these options in the United States.

Top 3 Cat Litters Reviewed

Product Name Type Price Overall Rating
Unscented Clumping Fresh White Litter Clumping Clay $0.70 per pound 4.4/5
Unscented Clumping Extreme Litter Clumping Clay $0.60 per pound 4.1/5
Non-Clumping Crystals Silica Crystal Litter $2.50 per pound 3.8/5

#1 Caliti Unscented Clumping Fresh White Litter

Caliti Unscented Clumping Fresh White Litter

Calitti’s clumping clay litters come in 20-lb bags with convenient “finger holes” along the top. This feature is especially handy when lugging around heavy clay.

The brand’s Fresh White formula is made with 100% white bentonite. While there are no evident benefits of white bentonite over traditional gray clay, the white granules provide a clean and tidy appearance.

Since Amber is already used to clay, she had no trouble transitioning to this formula. I was impressed with its clumping ability—clumps were solid, quick-forming, and easy to scoop. I didn’t notice any sticking to the bottom or sides of the litter pan.

Although this litter is labeled as unscented, it has a very subtle, fresh scent that isn’t overpowering. During the few weeks we used this litter, it kept odors under control.

One downside is the dust, a problem you’ll encounter with most clay litters. I found that tracking was on par with what I typically see with clay. I didn’t notice excessive litter all over the house, but there was quite a bit of scatter surrounding the litter boxes.

  • Formed tight, solid clumps

#2 Calitti Unscented Clumping Extreme Litter

Calitti’s Extreme litter is made from bentonite clay that’s marketed as an extra-strength clumping litter. While I was impressed with the clumping ability, I didn’t notice anything superior to the brand’s White formula. In one instance, this litter did stick to the sides of the litter pan. But I suspect it was because I caught it immediately after Amber had used it, not allowing enough time for it to solidify.

This litter is formulated with activated charcoal, and it did a good job of minimizing bad odors. It doesn’t have any noticeable smell.

Like the Fresh White formula, the Extreme litter is very dusty, so it may not make the best choice for cats or humans with sensitive lungs.

#3 Calitti Non-Clumping Crystals

Calitti Non-Clumping Crystals

Liz Coleman / Cats.com

This pink silica cat litter is conveniently packaged in manageable 8-lb bags. The crystals are relatively sharp, and some cats may find them uncomfortable under their paws—though, I imagine the brand’s microcrystals are a softer choice.

Being a creature of habit, Amber was unwilling to try the crystal litter. However, I was still able to assess its absorbency with water and was pleased with its performance. I also used a bit of vinegar to evaluate its odor control, and I found it very effective.

This litter has no noticeable smell but is quite dusty—a common issue I’ve observed with crystal litters.

What Do Customers Think of Calitti Litter?

There are very few reviews of Calitti litter online. Aside from the three reviews left on Jeffers Pet’s Site, I could only find reviews of the brand’s crystal litter—at this time, there are five reviews on Amazon and six reviews on Walmart. Although there are only a few to go by, all reviews are positive.

Positive Reviews

“We love this litter! It’s dust free, absorbs liquid, and eliminates odors! It’s so much easier to keep clean and is anti-bacterial, too! Perfect for multi-cat households.” Stacia Dorman, reviewing Calitti Crystal Litter on Amazon (January 17, 2025)

“Really impressed with this cat litter! It clumps perfectly and makes cleanup so much easier. Plus, the snow-white color looks so clean and fresh!” Igor Kalisak, reviewing Calitti Fresh White Litter on Jeffers Pet (Febuary 13, 2025)

Overall, Is Calitti a Good Choice?

Yes, I think most people will be pleased with Calitti’s performance—that is, if you can find it. For folks who live near a retailer that carries it (or those willing to pay hefty shipping fees), Calitti is a high-performing brand and a good value.
