Forza10 Cat Foods

Amy Brown-Towry / Cats.com

I’ve done hours of research on Forza10 cat food, studying the brand’s recall history, manufacturing standards, ingredient quality, and customer experience. On top of those hours of screen time, I also did some paws-on testing.

To get a sense of what this food is really like, I purchased a bag of Forza10 dry cat food and a couple of wet food recipes—all at full retail price. The hands-on testing was done with my own cats, so I could see how real cats truly respond to the food in terms of taste, texture, and overall appeal.

About Forza10

Forza10 is an independent Italian pet‑food company founded in 1995 by veterinarian Dr. Sergio Canello and holistic nutrition expert Gianandrea Guidetti, built on the belief that clean, uncontaminated nutrition is essential for long‑term pet health.

The brand’s philosophy centers on the idea that many chronic issues in cats and dogs stem from low-quality ingredients and environmental contaminants, and this focus on wellness is backed by more than 30 scientific and clinical studies published by their research & development team. Forza10 formulates nutraceutical, dietary, and super‑premium foods using raw materials sourced from Iceland and New Zealand, along with targeted botanical extracts, and their recipes are GMO‑free, antibiotic‑free, cruelty‑free, and often grain‑free.

While the company offers an extensive range of therapeutic and maintenance diets for dogs, its cat lineup is more limited, consisting of just over a dozen formulas, most of which are condition-specific but do not require a veterinary prescription.

One standout feature is the brand’s unusually transparent and easy-to-navigate website, which provides detailed ingredient explanations, scientific summaries, and a comprehensive FAQ section that helps pet owners understand exactly what they’re feeding their animals.

Sourcing and Manufacturing

Forza10 maintains 100% in-house production across its entire assortment of foods, manufacturing dry diets at its Bagnoli di Sopra facility in the province of Padua, Italy. All wet foods and treats are produced in Iceland, a location the company highlights for its pristine environment; strict national bans on hormones, food additives, and antibiotics; and high ranking on the Environmental Performance Index for sustainability. Both production sites operate under certifications for dietetic, maintenance, and organic food manufacturing (the latter overseen by the C.C.C.B.), and the company holds full DNV (ISO 9001:2008) certification, ensuring rigorous quality management throughout the entire production chain.

Forza10 also notes that it was the first European pet‑food manufacturer to obtain a USDA permit to export to the United States. To maintain ingredient purity and consistency, the company conducts more than 5,000 raw‑material tests each year and performs daily analytical controls on every batch received, allowing them to closely monitor suppliers and uphold their high internal quality standards.

Most ingredients appear to come from Iceland, with the exception of pasture-raised lamb, which is imported from New Zealand. The wild-caught anchovies in their foods come from Iceland and the Pacific Ocean.

Has Forza10 Cat Food Been Recalled?

We found no record of any U.S. recalls for Forza10. We can’t state with certainty that the company has never had a recall, but there does not appear to have been any recalls in the United States.

What Kinds of Food Does Forza10 Offer?

At the time of review, Forza10 offers six dry foods and seven wet foods for cats on its website, with the majority of these formulas designed to address specific health concerns. While most of the lineup is therapeutic in nature, two of the wet foods are formulated for everyday maintenance.

The targeted diets cover a wide range of conditions, including renal and kidney support, urinary health, hypoallergenic needs, intestinal and digestive support, dermo and skin sensitivities, weight control, and diabetic support.

Despite their therapeutic focus, none of Forza10’s cat foods require a veterinary prescription, making them accessible to pet parents seeking condition‑specific nutrition without needing to go through a veterinarian.

#1 Forza10 Nutraceutic Actiwet Renal Support Wet Cat Food

Forza10 Nutraceutic Actiwet Renal Support Wet Cat Food

Forza10 Nutraceutic Actiwet Renal Support Wet Cat Food is formulated specifically for cats with kidney concerns, offering a nutraceutical approach that doesn’t require a veterinary prescription. The recipe features the reduced protein levels typically recommended for cats with renal disease, along with lowered phosphorus and sodium to help support both kidney and cardiac function, an important consideration for older cats who often struggle with both issues simultaneously.

The food is made with pasture‑raised lamb from New Zealand and includes functional ingredients such as cranberries, dried dandelion root, and dried clover extract, all chosen for their supportive roles in urinary and kidney health. True to Forza10’s standards, the formula contains no GMOs, byproduct meals, corn, wheat, soy, oxytetracycline, artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors. Its high moisture content makes it especially suitable for cats with reduced kidney function, helping them maintain hydration.

The ingredient list is short and straightforward, making the food easier to digest for cats with compromised renal systems, while the added botanicals provide targeted therapeutic benefits. The product is sold in 32-pack boxes of 3.5-ounce (100 g) tins and contains 83 kcal per tin (828 kcal/kg).

#2 Forza10 Nutraceutic Actiwet Urinary Support Wet Cat Food (Salmon / Icelandic Fish Recipe)

Forza10 Nutraceutic Actiwet Urinary Support Icelandic Fish Recipe Wet Cat Food

Note: Some retailers list this product as “Forza10 Urinary Tract Wet Cat Food with Salmon, Made in Italy,” but this is the same formula as Forza10’s Actiwet Urinary Support Icelandic Fish Recipe. All Forza10 wet foods are produced in Iceland, while the company itself is based in Italy.

Forza10 Nutraceutic Actiwet Urinary Support Wet Cat Food is formulated for cats dealing with urinary tract issues such as FLUTD, cystitis, struvite crystals, and recurring infections. Many cats refuse prescription urinary diets, so a palatable, non‑prescription option like this can be a lifesaver for owners. This formula is made with salmon and Icelandic fish (high‑quality proteins that most cats find appealing) and avoids common irritants such as corn, wheat, soy, by‑product meals, GMOs, artificial preservatives, colors, and flavors.

Along with clean animal proteins, the recipe includes cranberries, dried dandelion root, and dried clover extract, all chosen for their supportive roles in urinary tract health. The food also contains acidifying compounds and reduced magnesium, which help maintain an optimal urinary pH and reduce the risk of struvite crystal formation. Because it’s a wet formula with high moisture content, it naturally supports hydration, which is one of the most important factors in preventing urinary tract problems.

This diet is designed for daily use in cats prone to urinary issues and may help reduce inflammation, support bladder health, and minimize recurrence of idiopathic cystitis. It’s made in Iceland in Forza10’s own facility, using traceable, clean ingredients.

Water sufficient for processing, salmon, chicken liver, rice, minerals (dicalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, salt, zinc sulfate, manganese sulfate, potassium iodide), methionine, cassia gum, starch, taurine, guar gum, locust bean gum, xanthan gum, vitamins (vitamin D3 supplement, vitamin E supplement, thiamine mononitrate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, biotin, and folic acid), vegetable oil, dried clover extract, cranberries, and dried dandelion root extract.

#3 Forza10 Active Urinary Dry Cat Food (Fish Flavor)

Forza10 Active Urinary Dry Cat Food

Forza10 Active Urinary Dry Cat Food is formulated for cats who struggle with urinary tract issues such as FLUTD, recurring infections, struvite crystals, and lower urinary tract inflammation.

This recipe is built around gentle, highly digestible ingredients, including milled rice, potato protein, hydrolyzed fish protein, dehydrated fish, and hydrolyzed poultry protein, making it suitable for cats with food sensitivities or digestive challenges. The formula also includes Forza10’s signature AFS (Active Fresh System) tablet, which makes up 7% of the food, contains functional plant extracts such as mouse‑ear hawkweed, lespedeza, cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon), and dandelion, botanicals chosen for their ability to support urinary tract health, reduce inflammation, and help maintain a balanced urinary environment. Additional ingredients like fish oil, dried algae (Ascophyllum nodosum), MOS, FOS, rosemary, nettle, and Yucca schidigera provide omega fatty acids, antioxidant support, digestive balance, and odor control.

The inclusion of clinoptilolite, a natural mineral binder, may help reduce toxin load and support overall urinary wellness. This formula is free from corn, wheat, soy, by‑product meals, GMOs, artificial preservatives, and oxytetracycline residues, making it a clean, non‑prescription option for cats prone to urinary issues. While it is a dry food, meaning cats will still need access to plenty of fresh water, it can be used as a daily maintenance diet or paired with a urinary‑support wet food for added hydration.

Are you concerned with the high carb content? The wet food has as many carbs as many dry foods on a dry matter basis. I’m not a nutritionist. I do know my vet wants our two cats on low carb food because their parents were overweight & one had diabetes. I’m a bit paranoid. lol Feline nutrition is becoming overwhelming & I should try to not worry & enjoy these special cats in the moment. Both are young & healthy with no problems at the moment. Thank you for your hard work. I ❤️ this website & refer everyone here. 🙂

Thank you for reviewing Forza10 cat foods. My Mom’s 11 yr old kitty, Gracie, was recently diagnosed with early stage renal disease. She was rejecting the prescription diets and loosing weight. Her favorite wet foods (mostly Weruva and BFF) were already below 1.0 phosphorus. But, her favorite dry (Origen’s Six Fish) was higher. Forza10’s renal dry seems to have had the magic mix of fish flavor and lower phosphorus. Her blood work numbers have since improved. Kitty seems more energetic too. So grateful!
