Though the brand name may be King Kanine, this company offers several products for cats as well. Their most popular products come from the King Kalm line of CBD oils which come in four concentrations.

In addition to these products, King Kanine offers several recipes for calming treats as well as grooming products for pets. Their King Kalm Soothe spray is an all-natural anti-itch spray for pets made with hemp-derived CBD. It contains soothing ingredients like aloe vera, tea tree oil, and chamomile, designed to control inflammation and protect against potential infection.
When testing King Kanine CBD, we also had the opportunity to test this King Kalm Soothe spray. Our test dog, Archie, has been suffering from dry and itchy skin lately, so we figured it was the perfect opportunity. The spray was easy to administer and it seemed to help a little, though it’s difficult to tell. The scent was fairly strong, but Archie didn’t seem to mind.
King Kanine also has their own deshedding tool, the King Komb. We tested the small version. This comb features retractable shedding edges with rubber bristles on the other side to massage the skin. Though it’s supposedly ergonomically designed, we found it a little awkward to hold. Overall, the product seemed to work well, however, and we liked the self-cleaning feature.

What Do Customers Think Of King Kanine CBD?
Before ordering CBD products, it’s important to do your research. Though CBD is generally regarded as safe for pets when used properly, quality and purity does vary from one company to another.
When searching for reviews of King Kanine products, we found plenty on the King Kanine website. Unfortunately, they were all 4- and 5-star reviews, so it was difficult to get a rounded picture of the brand from a customer’s experience.
We did, however, find more varied reviews on Facebook including a number of complaints about the company’s customer service. There were numerous accounts of lost orders and failed communication. In regard to the products themselves, however, most customers seem pleased with the quality and the efficacy.

Though many of their products seem to be geared toward dogs, King Kanine’s CBD oils along with some of their grooming products are very cat-friendly. This King Kalm CBD oil comes in a 30ml. bottle which contains 75mg of CBD. Each bottle is delivered in a small box and the bottle itself has a cap – the syringe used for administration is separate.
After reading some reviews for the product, we were interested to see how the syringe worked. Many reviews mentioned that the syringe was too small for the bottle which allowed the product to spill out.
It seems King Kanine has made attempts to address the issue by including a plastic syringe adapter with each bottle. You place the adapter in the neck of the bottle then insert the syringe through it to dispense the oil. This solution works well, as long as you push the adapter all the way into the neck of the bottle – the instructions don’t quite make it clear that you have to press pretty hard to do that.
We appreciate that King Kanine has addressed customer concerns with a functional solution. We still have a slight preference for CBD products that have the dropper built-in, however, to avoid the hassle of cleaning and storing the syringe separately after each use.

Like all of their CBD oils, King Kalm is made with organic natural ingredients and is third-party lab tested for purity and safety. In addition to CBD oil, their oils contain hemp seed oil and krill oil for additional omega-3 fatty acids. These ingredients are described as catalysts for delivering CBD to the body to increase its up-regulation and efficacy.
One thing worth noting with King Kalm CBD products is that King Kanine uses industrial hemp to extract a broad spectrum CBD oil that contains additional cannabinoids and terpenes. This means King Kalm CBD may contain up to 0.3% THC, but not likely enough to cause psychoactive effects or intoxication.

Both cats and dogs are prone to developing dry, itchy skin as well as other skin issues like dermal abrasions and hot spots. King Kalm Soothe spray is designed to stop itching and reduce inflammation to support the healing process and protect against potential infection.
This King Kalm Soothe spray comes in a 4-ounce spray bottle. To use, simply shake the bottle then spray directly on the affected area until covered and repeat 1 to 4 times daily, as needed. We found the product very easy to administer and, though the instructions didn’t specify, we rubbed it in for good measure. Our test dog didn’t seem to mind that it had a fairly strong odor, but cats were a little put off.
Overall, this seems to be a decent product, but we had hoped to see a little more detail about the breakdown of ingredients. Natural hemp seed oil is the first ingredient, followed by CBD.
In doing a little research, we found that hemp seed oil (as you might imagine) is derived from the seeds of the cannabis plant while CBD oil comes from the stalks, leaves, and flowers. Hemp seeds do not contain CBD, though they do have a rich profile of nutrients and bioactive compounds which benefit your pet’s skin. Given the info on the label, it’s hard to tell how much CBD the spray actually contains.
If you’re shopping specifically for a CBD product to relieve skin issues in your cat or dog, King Kalm Soothe may not be the best option. You might be better off going with a product that specifies how much CBD is in the spray.

How Much Does King Kanine Cost?
Pet CBD products can be expensive and prices vary depending on the concentration of CBD. The lowest concentration is the 75mg King Kalm CBD which retails for $39.99 per bottle. The 600mg King Kalm CBD oil is the most expensive, priced at $109.99.
These prices make King Kalm one of the more expensive brands we’ve reviewed, but we like that these products are specifically made for pets. Many CBD brands offering pet products don’t seem to actually formulate their recipes for pets but simply create a new label and don’t even bother to rewrite the dosing instructions. King Kalm offers very clear dosing instructions, and each product comes with a syringe for dispensing the oil.
At the time of review, all King Kanine products were marked down on sale with savings averaging $7 to $10 per product. It’s unclear how often sales like this happen, but it’s a fairly significant discount. You can also save money by joining the King Kash program to earn points on purchases.
Where Can You Buy King Kanine?
Though CBD products are becoming more widely available, it can still be tricky to find products specifically for pets. King Kanine products are available online, but you can also find them in certain stores.
We played with a few different zip codes and were surprised to find King Kanine is actually fairly widely distributed throughout the eastern half of the country with pockets of retailers in California, Arizona, and Texas. You’re most likely to find these products in vape shops and specialty pet stores.

Overall, Is King Kanine A Good Choice?
King Kanine has a mix of positive and negative reviews, but most of their negative reviews have to do with their customer service rather than the products themselves.
We were impressed with the variety of products and liked that their CBD oils were appropriate for pets – some brands don’t offer concentrations low enough for cats (in doses easy to administer, anyway) or have concentrations going all the way up to 1,500mg. King Kanine ranges from 75mg to 600mg.
What we appreciated most about King Kanine is the clarity of their dosing instructions. Each box of CBD oil comes with an insert that explains how CBD works and how to dose King Kalm products properly. Unlike many CBD brands that offer products for pets, King Kanine breaks down their dosing recommendations for every 5 pounds of body weight – this is important for smaller pets like cats. Many brands simply recommend a single dosage for pets under 20 or 25 pounds.
Overall, we like King Kanine as a brand and think their products are worth trying. We didn’t experience the ordering process, so we can’t speak to that aspect in particular.
