Why Trust Cats.com
As a longtime cat mom and member of the pet industry, I’ve tested all kinds of products. Though I don’t normally feed my cats raw food, this was a good chance to see if they liked it. And they certainly did.
I ordered two flavors of the food (chicken and beef) and one flavor of the treats (duck). During testing, I took note of my cats’ reaction to the food as well as general observations about its appearance, smell, texture, and consistency.
About PET-EVER Purefeast Cat Food
Based in China, PET-EVER operates primarily as an online brand specializing in freeze-dried raw pet food and treats. Made of 97% animal raw materials, the products mirror what cats naturally crave from their ancestral diet. PET-EVER focuses on clean, simple nutrition, and the formulas contain no fillers or artificial extras.
The food and treats are packed with taurine for heart health, vitamins for skin and coat, and low magnesium for urinary care. They can be served however your cat likes it—as a dry snack, crushed as a meal topper, or rehydrated with water for extra hydration.
The food and treats come in a resealable bag. The manufacturer recommends storing them in a cool, dry place and using the product within 30 days after opening.
Sourcing and Manufacturing
PET-EVER’s freeze-dried pet foods are manufactured by Gambol Pet Group. Gambol operates pet food manufacturing facilities in China and other countries and says its quality-control program includes incoming ingredient inspections, in-house and third-party testing, and dedicated sterilization processes.
Recall History
To date, no official FDA or public recalls have been issued for PET-EVER products.

What Did Our Test Cats Think?
The three formulas I tried were a huge hit in my house. As soon as I opened the bag, three of them came running to check out the wonderful smell. I’ll admit that the smell of some of the food is pretty strong (but not overpowering), but it made it very appealing to the cats.
There didn’t seem to be a favorite flavor—I tried all three on the cats and they loved each one.
I was a little concerned about the large size of both the food and the treats, especially with my two 7-month-old foster kittens who inhale their food, but they’re very easy to break into smaller pieces.

Positive Reviews
Buyers are generally happy with the food and treats. Many reviewers praise the high animal-origin content, high protein, and palatability, noting that even the pickiest of cats love it. Customers with sensitive pets or those prone to food allergies appreciate the grain-free, additive-free, and limited-ingredient formula.
“Both my cats loved this freeze-dried cat food. I have one slightly picky cat and one that’s a garbage disposal. The ingredients are plain and simple, and meant for a carnivore.” Amy reviewing PET-EVER Purefeast High Protein Beef Flavored Freeze-Dried Cat Food & Topper on Aug 11, 2026
“This food is made with all real meat ingredients! You can smell it when you open it. It works well as a food topper, high value treat, or full meal. Because of the strong smell, it is also a great tool for puzzles or scent training.” Laura reviewing PET-EVER Purefeast High Protein Beef Flavored Freeze-Dried Cat Food & Topper on Aug 17, 2026
Negative Reviews
Most negative reviews centered on cats either being uninterested or seeming confused if they had never eaten freeze-dried food before. Others pointed out that the food pieces are large and somewhat hard, making them difficult for some cats to eat – although breaking them into smaller pieces does the trick. A few reviewers also found the natural smell unappealing. A recurring topic in customer reviews was that the bags/pouches tend to be small relative to how quickly cats consume them when used as a full meal or heavy topper.
“I’m on the fence about this cat food. It seems to be very good quality cat food, but it is very hard and some of my cats have a hard time chewing it. I did add water to make it softer for my older cat, and he didn’t seem to care for it, but my other cat gobbled it up. The majority of my cats loved it and that was a win, but for a multi-cat household, this food isn’t something I could buy on a regular basis due to the higher price.” – Alexzoo reviewing on Chewy Aug 22, 2026
“It seems like a great product, and I like that it’s 100 percent natural with no added ingredients. However, my kitties just weren’t interested at all. I tried giving it as a treat by itself and by crumbling it over food, but it’s just not for them.” – Mikaela reviewing on Chewy Sep 6, 2026
