About Life’s Abundance
Life’s Abundance is part of a multi-level marketing company (referred to as an “MLM”). The company markets products for humans and for pets. Their products include nutritional supplements, skin and body care products, and cleaning products, along with dog and cat foods, and other products for pets. Their products are sold online and through their representatives/distributors. Products are shipped directly to the customer.
The company was started in 1998 as Trilogy International. It has been profitable since 2003. The company officially changed its name to Life’s Abundance in 2010. As of 2012, Life’s Abundance moved into new headquarters in Jupiter, Florida. In 2013 the company became 100 percent employee-owned.
According to the company, their purpose is to improve the overall wellness of family members, including their beloved dogs and cats. They believe optimal health starts within the four walls of your home. They strive to help each and every inhabitant live a fully abundant life. They describe the fully abundant life as the delicate balance of nutrition, physical wellness, mental well-being, environmental health and financial goals.
The company also has a non-profit organization known as the Dr. Jane Foundation which supports a number of animal rescue groups.

Sourcing and Manufacturing
We didn’t find a FAQ section on the Life’s Abundance web site. Nor did we find any current information about who makes their cat foods or where they are made.
Since Life’s Abundance is a marketing company and doesn’t specialize in pet foods, they do appear to use another company (or companies) to make their pet foods (called “co-packing”). According to information from 2019, their dry foods were manufactured at that time by Ohio Pet Foods, located in Ohio, and their sister company, Southern Tier, located in New York. Both of these companies have outstanding reputations for making quality premium pet foods.
Since that time, both Ohio Pet Foods and Southern Tier have become part of BrightPet Nutrition Group. Other brands manufactured for companies by BrightPet include Blackwood, Adirondack, By Nature, and Stewart. Other foods manufactured by BrightPet may be private label and undisclosed.
According to Life’s Abundance, they routinely monitor the production of their foods to ensure that they meet their exacting standards.

It’s not especially easy to review Life’s Abundance cat foods. Many of the online testimonials are provided by customer representatives who have a vested interest in promoting food sales. In other words, they profit from sales so they might be reluctant to say anything negative about the foods. All of the technical information about the foods comes from the company web site so we have to rely on Life’s Abundance to provide what we need to know about ingredients and nutrition.
Looking at Life’s Abundance All Life Stage Cat Food (dry), the first five ingredients are chicken meal, ground brown rice, egg product, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), and whitefish meal. These are nutritious ingredients that should be suitable for most cats. Named meat meals, such as chicken meal and whitefish meal, have about three times as much protein content as fresh meat because most of the moisture has already been removed. Eggs (including “egg product”) are easy for cats to digest and provide more protein.
Chicken fat is a named fat. It’s important for animals to have a good source of fat in their diet so they can use fat-soluble vitamins. Healthy fats are also good for the skin and coat. According to Life’s Abundance, they are currently unable to offer their canned foods to customers at this time due to pandemic-related supply chain issues. They are in the process of resolving these issues so they should be available again soon. They only make two kinds of canned cat foods. We’ll go ahead and review one of these foods.
Life’s Abundance Pork & Duck Grain Free Recipe is grain free. It’s cooked in a pork broth. It’s also a limited ingredient recipe so it’s said to be gentle for cats with a sensitive stomach. The food also contains omega fatty acids for healthy skin and coat. Green-lipped mussels, L-tryptophan, and added vitamins and minerals support your cat’s health. Green-lipped mussels are especially helpful for cats with joint problems.
This recipe contains no fillers, artificial colors or flavors, and no preservatives or gums that could irritate your cat’s stomach. It’s suitable for kittens, adults, and senior cats.

#3 Life’s Abundance All Life Stage Cat Food Grain Free Review
While Life’s Abundance is currently unable to deliver their canned cat foods, their dry foods are still available. Along with Life’s Abundance All Life Stage Cat Food (reviewed above), the company also offers Life’s Abundance All Stage Cat Food Grain Free for cats (and their humans) who prefer food without grains.
This formula is somewhat different from it’s grain-inclusive counterpart. The first five ingredients in this recipe are: chicken meal, egg product, turkey meal, sweet potatoes, and potatoes. The next ingredient is field peas.
As with the grain-inclusive formula, this recipe has good amounts of chicken meal, egg product, and whitefish meal (later in the ingredient list). It adds turkey meal which is suitable for cats.
There are some pros and cons to using potatoes and sweet potatoes in cat food. The benefits of potatoes and sweet potatoes are that most cats can easily tolerate them. They provide vitamin C, potassium, B vitamins, and they are comparatively low in calories. However, they are a high starch food. You will always need starch/carbohydrates in a kibble for the food to hold texture and shape.
Potatoes are also a high glycemic index food. This means that they can get into the bloodstream quickly and raise blood sugar levels. Sweet potatoes are a little lower but not by much. If your cat is diabetic, you might want to avoid cat foods that use potatoes and sweet potatoes unless they are only present in very small amounts.
Otherwise, most of the ingredients in this food are very similar to the ingredients found in Life’s Abundance grain-inclusive dry cat food.
Overall, Life’s Abundance All Stage Cat Food Grain Free looks like a fair food for cats. It might not be a good choice if your cat is diabetic due to the potato and sweet potato content.
