Family Went From Two Cats to Six-compressed

When Michelle saw a post about four barn kittens in need of homes, she sent it to her husband, thinking that he could go pick one up.

The couple had two cats and three daughters, and she thought it would be nice for the girls to each have their own cat. When her husband brought home all four instead, the humans became outnumbered!

From two cats to six

This family quickly went from two cats to six! Michelle’s husband couldn’t bear to separate the kittens from one another–and it seems like he made the right choice.

Not only do the four tuxedo kittens sleep in cute cuddle piles, they’ve also been a great addition to the existing family.

Their mom says that each cat has chosen a person. For instance, their oldest cat, Oliver, has laid with their middle daughter since she was just a baby. He’d even crawl right into her crib.

The cats and kids adore one another. The cats even enjoy being put in high chairs, being held by the kids, and snuggling up in a row under blankets, which the children set up and call “day care.”

They take them outside in cat backpacks, and the kittens also love playing in baskets.

The cats are calm and well-socialized, and get along well with the family’s Golden Retriever as well. They love to cuddle with George and lick his face.

Unique personalities

Unique personalities

Each cat has their own preferences and personalities, some of which contributed to their adorable names.

Mittens was, of course, named for his white paws. He loves warmth, and is known on the internet for laying in front of the fireplace. He’ll even yell at the humans to turn it on for him!

In the summer, he enjoys basking in the sun.

Another of their cats is named Bob, and there’s also Oliver. Thunder got his name because he came home in a thunderstorm. Blanket was named for the blanket he hid under when he first arrived home, though he’s not as timid anymore after getting to know his family.

Oreo, one of the tuxies, loves mom the most out of anyone.

Claiming cats

Their mom says that she was never allowed pets growing up, so it makes her happy that her children have so many to interact with. She also loves always having a cat to cuddle.

It’s not just the cats who have favorites, either. The girls claim their own cats, and talk about taking them with them when they move out as adults.

You can see more of the family, including Mittens’ cute stretches by the fireplace, on Michelle’s Tiktok.
