“What do you do when your cat likes a character you play more than she likes you?” asks Veronica’s mom. Her cat couldn’t care less about snuggling her–until she’s wearing a costume, that is!
This silly cat especially seems to like her mom’s panda costume, and immediately turns into a lap cat when she sees it.
Veronica and Baby Boo
Veronica and her sister, Baby Boo, came into their mom’s life at two days old. She fostered their mother for six months, before finding her a forever home and deciding to keep the kittens.
Mama cat was very young, but was as good a mom as she could be at her age. She batted her kittens around like toys, and the girls’ human mom had to keep collecting them and bringing them back!
The two are biological sisters, but they were born two days apart. Since she’s not sure who was born first, their mom celebrates their birthday in the middle.
She says the two have very different personalities. While Veronica is very food motivated, her sister loves snuggles. A perfect day for Baby Boo, their mom says, is to be snuggled in her arms all day! Whenever she can, she’s climbing her leg or jumping onto her chest–anything to stay close.
Falling in Love With the Panda Costume

Veronica isn’t a lap cat like Baby Boo, at least not when her mom looks like herself. She likes most of her mom’s costumes, especially the panda suit! When she puts it on, Veronica’s mom says she becomes a ragdoll, limp and purring in her mom’s arms.
She has the same reaction whether she sees her put it on or not, but when it’s off she doesn’t care for cuddles. Her mom’s theory is that she likes how soft the costume is, or, in her words, “Maybe my human face is just too much.”
The cats don’t like every costume, though. Their biggest reaction was to a German Shepherd costume, because they don’t like dogs. But, after about thirty seconds of wondering what on Earth their mom was wearing, they were over it and acting normally again.
Many cats would be afraid of their humans wearing costumes, because cats tend to be wary of change. But these cats don’t seem too bothered, probably because this is something they’ve experienced from a young age. The more cats experience as kittens, the less fearful they tend to be as adults.

Veronica might like her panda mom more than her real mom, but her mom loves her and Baby Boo just the way they are! She feels like meeting them was meant to be. They changed her life and helped her to achieve what she’s always wanted, which is to make people laugh.
