I just love the Tonkinese cat, but with a price of at least $1,000, most of us cat fans probably won’t share their lives with a “Tonk.” But we can live vicariously through many fabulous Tonkinese cats who have Instagram accounts full of beautiful pictures and sweet and funny videos.
The Tonkinese is a purrfect blend of two parent breeds: the Siamese and the Burmese. This ancestry typically gives these exquisite cats the coloring of the Siamese, and the body build of the Burmese. Along with their sleek physical beauty, Tonkinese cats are known for being loving, gregarious, inquisitive, and playful.
I spent a few hours searching for special Tonks with their own pages on Instagram, and found these seven gems you can follow. (Disclaimer: I am sure there are many more I missed, and many more to come.)
1. Minki LaMoo

@minki_lamoo3 / Instagram.com
I give this special senior cat a shout-out for being the ripe old age of 16 and apparently in tiptop shape! Minki LaMoo has nearly 4.5K Instagram followers at @minki-lamoo3. The cat celebrated the 4K follower milestone – just about a year after debuting the Instagram page – with this recent photo, with an adorably Grumpy Cat-like facial expression. Minki has luxurious, dark grey fur.
This cat’s 111 posts are written in first person, and I haven’t found any biographical info or pronouns indicating whether this beauty is male or female, but my guess is that Minki LaMoo is a girl’s name. Minki lives with her human in the Blue Mountains region of Australia, but several posts report that the family moved back to Australia from Malka in 2024. In this reel, we see Minki looking regal as she perches on a ledge and gazes out over a beautiful marina in Malka.
May Minki LaMoo live several more years and give us many more photos and reels to enjoy!
2. Tonkinese Charlie and Bengal Ricci

Here, lovers of sleek, shorthaired purebred cats get a 2-for-1 treat, with both a Tonkinese named Charlie and his Bengal buddy Ricci. I chose this account despite its having less than 1K followers, because these cats deserve a boost in viewers – they are gorgeous!
Owned by a psychotherapist and known as “Therapeutikitties” at @therapeutikitties, Charlie and his Bengal sidekick make an adorable pair. Like Minki LaMoo, Charlie is a 16-year-old senior cat with dark gray fur. For his 16th birthday last year, Charlie’s owner posted an adorable photo graphic showing Charlie with a can of tuna as a birthday cake, and Ricci floating in a balloon-powered basket nearby.
“May your little sister keep you young – by annoying you into immortality!” Charlie’s human wrote with the birthday wish.
In one funny reel dubbed with music from The Godfather, Charlie shows his jutted-out bottom tooth while a human voice says: “You disrespect the cat, you disrespect the family.” Ricci is such a cutie, and this heartwarming reel shows Charlie loving on his little sister, dubbed to funny cartoon music. Aww!
3. Tonks

This 4-year-old chocolate minx Tonkinese female is gorgeous, with sleek sable-colored fur and brown points. Tonks, who lives in Melbourne, Australia, is quite a looker, and she entertains nearly 5K followers with purrsonality at @tonksthetonkinese.
Here is an adorable reel showing Tonks as a kitten on her “Gotcha Day.” Tonks has a sense of humor and cattitude. In this amusing photo with a funny face, Tonks says: “Hooman abandoned me with an unknown lady and tiny hooman in strange surroundings 3 weeks ago. I am told she is returning tonight. Revenge is imminent.” We can see Tonks is well-loved in this sweet reel, with the human mom petting Tonks and the text: “When people say it’s just a cat, but that cat is your entire world.” Aaawwww.
Go to this exquisite Tonkinese’s page, and you, too, will fall in love with Tonks!
4. Miss Kitty

What a beautiful lady Miss Kitty, aka “Queenie,” is! This platinum point Tonkinese, which you can check out at @tonkinese_please_, has more than 1.5K followers, and she deserves many more. According to Miss Kitty’s human on her Instagram profile, Queenie loves to play and be the center of attention, and she is an affectionate and happy Tonk.
Miss Kitty looks adorable here in a basket, and here as a gorgeous kitten with blue eyes. Miss Kitty gives us a big yawn on a Monday morning here. Check out her more than 380 photos, and give Miss Kitty some love!
5. Coco and Kimba

@cocoandkimba / Instagram.com
Welcome to the “life and times of Tonkinese brothers” named Coco and Kimba, writes the Australia-based human who shares life with these two handsome cats. These two cats show great affection for each other, and they have beautiful coats: Kimba has chocolate points, and Coco has a gray color scheme.
Their very first photo from a few years ago shows Coco and Kimba snuggling, and it’s so cute that the photo could make a great calendar page. For a big dose of “Aaaww!”, check out this reel showing the Tonkinese brothers snuggling and grooming each other. We further see the love between Kimba and Coco with this sweet meme with the caption: “What time is it, bro? It’s Cuddle-o’Clock!”
This page has around 1K followers and hasn’t had the same level of exposure as some other Tonkinese Instagram stars. But these two boys deserve thousands of followers, so check them out!
6. Romeo and Brownie

@tonkinesetwo / Instagram.com
More than 6K posts will entertain you on these Tonkinese brothers’ page at @tonkinesetwo, which includes two bonus cats: little gray brother Perry, and the dearly departed Leo, an orange tabby and white tuxedo who died at the end of 2024.
As for the Tonkinese brothers, Brownie has a dark-colored coat in the Tonk shade known as natural with a dark brown face. Romeo, by contrast, has coloring similar to a Snowshoe cat. Romeo is undergoing cancer treatment, sadly, so please visit this page, become a follower, and send him some love!
Romeo promotes health in an entertaining way in several reels that show him walking on a circular cat treadmill. In this reel, Romeo gets chatty while he walks, and it’s so cute.
7. Atom

@yuu.shimojo_atom / Instagram.com
This gorgeous, dark, natural-color Tonkinese lives in Tokyo, Japan, and since the profile is written in Japanese, I can’t understand what it says. But, the sight of this amazing cat is worth the visit to the page at @yuu-shimojo_atom, which has the biggest following of any Tonkinese mentioned here at 12.5K followers.
I love checking out Atom’s pictures, like this picture of him (I’m just guessing the gender) sunning himself on his back and exposing his belly. In this adorable reel, Atom tackles and bunny kicks a catnip toy that drives him nuts. And look at Atom curled up and sporting a yellow bow tie!
Enjoying Tonking out on Instagram with these Tonkinese beauties!
