For Manny’s mom, black cats are good luck! They’re also for more than just Halloween. Adopting a cat is a lifetime commitment, and she’s dedicated her own life to creating a legacy for the most amazing cat she’s ever met.
Manny is trusting, charismatic, and an inspiration to thousands of people on Instagram, where he shares his spooky vibes all year round.
The Most Trusting Cat Ever

Meeting Manny was like fate, his mom says. From the start, both of his parents knew exactly what they were looking for: an adult, male black cat. Somehow, they were on the same page without ever having discussed it prior.
When they met Manny for the first time, he was fast asleep. Despite having strangers in his space, he continued his nap like he knew he could trust them. And when he woke up, he showed off his tummy and let his mom give him belly rubs.
She says that when she saw his beautiful green eyes, she knew that he was the one.
A Big Purr-Sonality

Later, the two would learn that Manny has a big personality! He’s declared himself king of the house, and he loves to talk his parents’ ears off. He’ll shout to get what he wants, has back-and-forth meowing “conversations,” and purrs super loud when he’s happy.
He also comes when called, like a little puppy dog!
Since his mom works from home, the two of them are especially close. She says that it was love at first sight, and that love has deepened every day since they met.
He’s her favorite coworker. He naps on her lap while she’s working, and then they spend her lunch break together.
Black Cats Are for Life, Not Just Halloween!

Although he’s known as Manny the Halloween Cat online, Manny’s mom says that people should never adopt any pet because of a holiday. Adopting a cat is a huge commitment, since some of them can live 20+ years.
She hopes that showing off how amazing Manny is will inspire others to adopt senior cats, especially black cats who are often overlooked.
Every cat deserves a home, and it’s important to choose based on personality and the level of care you can provide. Coat color shouldn’t matter, nor should a cat’s age!
When a cat knows you’re in it for a lifetime, the two of you are able to form a really special bond. It changes both of your lives for the better.
Manny’s mom credits him for making her a more empathetic person. He’s also inspired her to join social media, meet some of her closest friends, and start multiple cat-focused businesses. She hopes that, in return, she can build a legacy they can both be proud of.
