Known for their silky, plush, short coat in a stunning shade of silvery blue-gray, gorgeous green eyes, and affectionate personalities, Russian Blue cats have many fans around the world. Thanks to Instagram, anyone can behold the beautiful sight of some of these Russian Blues and watch their adorable antics on reels. I spent hours searching for Russian Blues with Instagram accounts, and found these eight favorites.

1. Kira

More than 55,000 Instagram users have discovered the gorgeous Kira at @kira.therussianblue. This steely-fur, green-eyed beauty from England does tricks, according to her profile, and you will often see her sticking her tongue out at you – like Kira does in this adorable pinned post.

In this funny video, with dubbed voices, Kira and her feline companion commiserate secretly as their human scoops their litter box. “They need us for our poop,” Kira says, directing her feline friend to spy on the scooping. “See? It’s like they’re collecting it for something.” Kira’s theory? The humans are using poop to make a piece of chocolate. Ew!

In this video, Kira’s human explains that she chose this Russian Blue because her partner is allergic, and the breed has a reputation for being hypoallergenic. But, ironically, Kira triggers her partner’s allergies more than their other cats. They just learned to live with it, because having cats is so wonderful. Kira joins her human hanging out in her garden in this happy video – great stress relief! Kira becomes a jokester and tells a cute knock-knock joke to another cat here. And here, Kira demonstrates the “elevator butt” feline phenomenon with fun music.

Check out this funny, feisty face Kira makes when she goes outside to check out the first snow sprinkles of the season – this is a meme-worthy image, and something that could appear on a greeting card!

With more than 1,200 posts, Kira can bring you lots of Russian Blue beauty.

2. Leia

Leia

This 8-year-old Russian Blue beauty lives in Sweden, and has gathered more than 25,000 Instagram followers at @russianblueleia. In her profile, her human calls Leia a princess and a rebel!

This petite, doe-eyed girl with a sweet face could be a feline fashion model – or shall I say, “meowdel?” Leia’s page is full of cute reels, like this video, where she is lounging and showing off her “chicken leg.” In this reel, the carnivore chows down on a piece of broccoli with Billy Joel’s defiant song “My Life” playing in the background. And here, with a coy look on her face, Leia lies on her back and ponders whether she is the villain and cause of drama. (We say: Even if you are, you’re so darned cute that we don’t care!)

Check out Leia here looking queenlike in her “cardboard castle,” and in this photo, where she has the picture-purrfect happy cat pose on her back. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, the earlier posts out of 850 show baby Leia as a kitten – like this one!

Enjoy fawning over this princess.

3. Marlowe and Darby

Marlowe and Darby

These two handsome boys could be identical twins. I cannot tell who is who in the photos, unless a caption says so! But, the description at the Instagram page @marlowe.and.darby, which has more than 5,800 followers, describes each Russian Blue’s unique purrsonality. Marlow is a “clicker ninja,” a poet savant, and a fact collector. Darby is a “cuddle czar,” “stand-derp comic,” and gentle giant. These cats live with their humans in Vienna, Austria.

This Instagram page is mostly photos with few videos, but the photography is vivid and gorgeous and professional looking, with many close-up shots of these two cats’ faces. Marlowe shows his stink eye in action in this cute photo. In this photo, we see an irresistibly adorable photo of Marlowe as a kitten falling asleep on the soft belly of older brother Darby. In this gorgeous photo, Darby ponders whether he can achieve sainthood on cuteness alone. In this funny Christmas photo, Darby was preparing to attack Marlowe – but then, he spotted the new tree, and it reminded him that Santa Claws is watching.

Enjoy oohing and aahing over these handsome Russian Blues!

4. Nova, Noedel, and Notsie

Nova, Noedel, and Notsie

This Instagram page at @the_russianblue_trio hasn’t received the same level of exposure as the others in this article – it has a little over 800 followers – but this account gives us a triple dose of Russian Blue cats. Nova, Noedel and Notsie deserve to be discovered!

The matriarch of this cat family is Notsie, a mama Russian Blue with a rounded face. Notsie gave birth to siblings Nova and Noedel. Their page is a bit confusing because it mentions and shows an older brother named Lokii, who appears to be a Russian Blue – wouldn’t that make this a quad and not a trio? Not that it matters.

This page provides a feast for the eyes of the steely gray fur of Russian Blues, with purrsonality. Check it out!

5. Millay

Millay

This beautiful cat introduces herself with this on her Instagram page, @millay_the_russian_blue: “I’m a Russian Blue princess who doesn’t mind lifting a paw for the camera.” Ok, your highness!

Millay has more than 1,900 followers, and her human has posted more than 1,000 photos and videos. The visuals show not just the Russian Blue, but the many other cats she lives with, and the variety is part of what makes this account appealing.

We see a cute picture of Millay and her brother Tristan here. In this picture, we see Paulina, a sweet stray cat who showed up on Christmas Eve and joined Millay’s family. I love this adorable photo of an orange tabby cat named Paige and a Siamese cat named Ben snuggling.

Enjoy admiring Millay and her diverse cat family!

6. Charlie

This dashing, 10-year-old male Russian Blue from Sydney, Australia has earned more than 3,000 followers on his Instagram page @charlie_n_me. His “hooman,” Diana, has posted more than 2,000 photos and reels of this cat with big, tall ears! The cute, often colorful photos show this sleek cat in many surroundings and situations, including his 9th birthday, Christmas time with donuts here, Halloween, and more. In this cute and funny reel, Charlie pretends to be a soldier. In this adorable photo, Charlie shows his and Diana’s support for Ukraine with a yellow and blue bow tie.

Have fun checking out this Down Under Russian Blue!

7. Mari

Mari

I can’t tell you much about Mari, as her profile, @sonar_pocket_mari, is written in an Asian language I don’t understand. But with more than 13,000 followers and more than 4,400 posts, I would be remiss not to mention this stunning beauty! I can’t read the words Russian Blue in the words, but this cat certainly looks like a purebred.

If you can’t speak the language, no words are needed: You can spend hours gazing at thousands of images and reels of this beautiful cat.

8. Mischa

Mischa

@mischa_russianblue / Instagram.com

This beauty from Yokohama, Japan poses beautifully for many photos – many with flowers, like this one and this photo. In this picture, Mischa gazes from a couch into the camera with such soulful green eyes. Mischa is all ready for Christmas here in this Santa Claus scarf. How cute and whimsical! The photos on Mischa’s page, @mischa_russianblue, look magazine quality, and I wonder if her human is a professional photographer.

Another thing that makes Mischa’s page special is that many photographs feature the other cat in her family: Sasha, a Khao Manee, which originated in Thailand and is one of the rarest cat breeds in the world. The cat has either blue or gold eyes, and sometimes a mix of the two, leading to the nickname Diamond Eye. We talk about the Khao Manee as one of the 29 rarest breeds.

It’s a treat to look at these two exquisite cats: Mischa the steely gray Russian Blue, and Sasha the white Khao Manee, the likes of which you are unlikely to see anywhere else.
