Sustainably Yours Cat Litter has three varieties available in the U.S. and two varieties available in Brazil. (In Brazil, their litter products go by the name of Viva Verde!) For the sake of this product review, we will be focusing on the three options available in the U.S., which are the Multi-Cat, Multi-Cat Plus and Multi-Cat Large Grains formulas.
The Sustainably Yours litters in this review are all made from a mixture of corn and cassava, which did a good job with absorbency, clumping, odor control, tracking and an extremely low amount of dust.
In addition, corn and cassava are both sustainable and renewable crops, and one of the goals of Sustainably Yours is to produce cat litter that is not only effective, but also environmentally friendly.
Another aspect of their environmentally friendly approach is the litter’s flushability. According to their website, Sustainably Yours litter is flushable if it is soaked for 15 minutes before flushing.
However, they do point out that there are some parasites in cat litter that have been found to harm certain mammals, so they recommend that their customers do some research before flushing. Their website also mentions that it is illegal to flush litter of any kind in the state of California.
Along with their litter being 100% sustainable, the company is also a member of The Rainforest Trust, and a portion of every Sustainably Yours purchase is donated to this organization which acquires acreage of threatened rainforest worldwide to protect and sustain natural habitats.
In addition, Sustainably Yours partners with animal shelters in the U.S. and Brazil, and also donates to programs that assist pet owners with high medical costs or other financial issues.

Brand Overview
Like with other corn- and cassava-based litters on the market, Sustainably Yours is a completely sustainable product while also being renewable, biodegradable, compostable and flushable.

One variety of Sustainably Yours Litter is the Multi-Cat Formula. Michael Vogelsang / Cats.com
Also, its natural starches help to form solid clumps that are easily scooped with limited crumbling, along with doing a very good job with odor control naturally.

Another variety of Sustainably Yours Litter is the Multi-Cat Plus formula. Michael Vogelsang / Cats.com
In addition, the all-natural formula does a great job as far as limited dust is concerned when pouring and scooping, and regardless of which grain-sized formula you are using, the litter does very well when it comes to limiting tracking outside of the litter box.

A third variety of Sustainably Yours Litter is the Multi-Cat Large Grains formula. Michael Vogelsang / Cats.com
Another benefit of Sustainably Yours litter is that it is naturally very light in color compared to most other litters, which can be extremely helpful when it comes to monitoring your cat’s litterbox use, meaning that you can easily notice any unusual discoloration in their urine or feces.

What Kinds Of Litter Does The Brand Offer?
Sustainably Yours Cat Litter offers three different varieties, all of which are multi-cat formulas, fragrance-free and made from corn and cassava. The main difference between these varieties is the granule size; the Multi-Cat Formula has a mixture of small and large grains to balance clumping and tracking, the Multi-Cat Plus Formula uses small grains for faster clumping, and the Multi-Cat Large Grains Formula uses large grains to minimize tracking.
All three of these Sustainably Yours litter formulas offer the same benefits:
- Made from Corn and Cassava
- Highly Absorbent
- Fragrance-Free
- Clumping
- Flushable
This litter is much different than many other available litters because of its sustainable, renewable and biodegradable ingredients, its natural fragrance-free odor control, as well as its high level of absorbency.
Some other advantages to Sustainably Yours litter are that it is virtually dust-free when pouring and scooping, its clumping abilities makes it simple to scoop with minimal clump breakage, and its naturally light color makes it easy to spot any unhealthy discoloration in your cat’s urine and feces.
When it comes to urine and feces, all three varieties did a great job when it came to immediate clumping with urine, and it also did a very good job clumping onto fecal matter. With that in mind, it’s definitely more effective and maintains a higher level of odor control if you scoop your litter boxes at least once a day, particularly if you are in a multi-cat home, which is what Sustainably Yours litter is designed for in the first place.
As for its cost-per-pound ratio, Sustainably Yours has a higher price point than other litters that you might find on the market, but when you take into consideration things like the sustainable and renewable ingredients, the flushability, the low amount of tracking, the dust-free formula, and the overall effectiveness, the investment seems worth the cost.

Positive Reviews
“This is by far the best cat litter I have ever used. It is light weight, lasts longer than other litter, there is minimal tracking outside of the box, and absolutely controls odors.
My three cats love it, and it is well worth the price.” –Christine A. Hoffmann, reviewing Sustainably Yours Multi-Cat Litter on March 29, 2025
“I absolutely love this litter!! It clumps almost instantly, no odor (my cat is a stinky creature, so this definitely helps) virtually no dust, unless squeezing the top of the bag forcefully, minimal tracking. I make sure to get tracking mats around the litter area. It doesn’t even smell like we have a cat in our apartment. Which is a bonus! My daughter even volunteers to help clean litter box every night as a part of her duties, and she does it without complaint ^.^ She says, “I like cleaning it because, I can’t smell anything.” SO 5 STARS IN OUR HOME” –Brianna, reviewing Sustainably Yours Multi-Cat Plus Litter on March 26, 2025
“I really appreciate the sustainability aspect of this litter—it feels like a healthier, more natural option compared to traditional clay-based ones. The texture is soft and fine, which my cat adjusted to quickly, and it does a good job controlling odor without artificial scents.
Clumps well and is easy to scoop, plus it doesn’t leave that heavy dust cloud when pouring. If you’re looking for a more eco-friendly alternative that still performs like a top-tier litter, this is definitely worth trying.” –Rachel, reviewing Sustainably Yours Multi-Cat Large Grains Cat Litter on March 25, 2025
Negative Reviews
“I had high hopes for it as Jackson Galaxy endorses it. The good is that it’s low-dust and there’s pretty much no tracking.
The so-so pee is absorbed in a way that it almost becomes concrete, making it hard to dispose of if you’re using a small container (ie Litter Genie)
The bad: smell is AWFUL. I think having them pee and poo on the floor wouldn’t smell as bad as the smell it produces when it gets in contact with the Sustainably Yours Cat Litter, Mixed-Grain Formula litter.” –Roberto Barrios, reviewing Sustainably Yours Multi-Cat Litter on April 7, 2025
“I really wanted to believe I had finally found ‘the litter’! It seemed to be everything I was looking for, except it turns to basically cement and it was hard for my cats to walk on. Upon trying to remove the urine litter, it was IMPOSSIBLE! I gave up and my fiancee started trying to break the pieces up with a tool and he said we need a scraper as well. How, how do others use this without serious issues is beyond me. EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED!” –JB, reviewing Sustainably Yours Multi-Cat Plus Litter on April 6, 2025
“This stuff smelled like throw up and cheese, even when I scooped it out I can smell it in the living room when the trash can was in the kitchen. I will not be repurchasing this litter as I cannot stand the smell.” –Aaliyah, reviewing Sustainably Yours Multi-Cat Large Grains Cat Litter on March 9, 2025
How Much Does Sustainably Yours Cat Litter Cost?

Overall, Is Sustainably Yours Cat Litter a Good Choice?
We have a lot of positive things to say about all three varieties of Sustainably Yours Cat Litter that we reviewed. Ultimately, all of them did very well with only a few, minor downsides. And, the downsides really depend on your personal preferences.
Sustainably Yours cat litter might seem a little bit pricey compared to other litters on the market, but you’re also paying for sustainability, renewability and flushability. In other words, your extra dollars are paying to help the environment in the long-run.
Where Is Sustainably Yours Cat Litter Sold?
Sustainably Yours Cat Litter is primarily sold online through Amazon, but is also available to purchase from other retailers.
[email protected] I loved it, my cats loved it. The bricked blocks of pee took us all be surprise, needed a little hacking at and a stronger transfer sack. I clean their box several times a day, so it’s not a problem. Not much tracking dust either. We’re pleased!
I am most interested in knowing if this litter lasts longer or a similar amount of time to a clay clumping counterpart or other natural clumping litter.
I find that it lasts for slightly less time than good clay clumping litter; it tends to form large clumps, and odor can build up a tiny bit faster.
We’ve used the multicat plus litter for a little over two years for our cats, both are two-year-old litter mates and we love them dearly.
While researching other sustainable litters I read a very concerning review on Chewy for the sWheat Scoop brand. A kitty parent lost one of their cats to intestinal cancer, then six months later their other cat was diagnosed with intestinal cancer. They said, “Wheat, corn, and corn byproduct litter can develop a fungus called “aflatoxins,” and this fungus can be fatal to cats.” Of course, I’m now extremely worried about our babies and researching for myself to find the safest litter, but I’d like the opinions of any experts or those with connections to veterinarians.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙂
Hi, Annie! Have you had any response or result to your research about this? I want to buy sustainably yours and I think it may be the best out there but I want to make sure it is fine. I have ready one comment saying everytime they mix sustainably yours with boxie clay cat litter, they will get some fungus but nothing with just boxie. Thank you!
YES!!!!!! This is the cat litter I’ve been looking for. It clumps, there is no odor, and it keeps the dust down.
Even my cats seem to like it, whatever that mean – I guess it means they don’t heave it all over the room and leave cat tracks. Thank you for a wonderful product, this is the best I’ve found.
Why is ‘unscented’ a con? That’s the most idiotic thing I’ve read regarding cat litter in a long time.
This was a mistake; fixing now. Thanks!
Sustainably Yours litter – one more comment. It’s the only clumping litter I’ve found that creates a “hard clump,” i.e. you could literally pick it up in your fingers in an emergency. All joking aside, what that actually does that few of the other clumping litters do … is to potentially isolate any liquids or “solid of semi solid matter” deposited by one cat from any other cats in the home. And that would be true for both GI bacteria/pathogens or those in the urinary tract. I never saw that degree of “protection” … i.e. a hard shell on the outside of the clumps … with any other clumping litter. The “soft clumping” litters don’t do that. And I know that’s not 100% protective, but for me it’s a definite feature.
Fascinating observation! Thank you for sharing.
It’s important if you either have any doubts about whether or not one of your cats has an “issue,” or if you’re my situation, and you’re faced with clearing an intestinal infection and it’s really important to be able to control a cat’s exposure to anything in what the “last cat just donated.”
I initially resisted this litter because it calls itself out as promoted by Jackson Galaxy and celebrity endorsements are so often “purchased,” as opposed to “earned.” I honestly believe that this one is EARNED.
