The Halloween season is one of my favorite times of year, as it is for many people. The spooky festivities, the leaves, the weather, the scary movies, the candy, the orange and black, and the cool decorations—don’t you just love it?
I go crazy buying festive Halloween gifts for my house, both inside and outside. With the ubiquitous presence of the iconic black cat as a Halloween mascot in October, I did some cat-specific shopping this year to find cute, decorative, and practical Halloween gifts for cat-loving humans and their special felines.

#1 Salem Sanctuary for Wayward Cats Doormat

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
Oh, this doormat from Macorner is so purrfect if you are a cat rescuer like me! Although it is distinctly Halloween in style – with witch hats and jack-o’-lanterns and black cats – I think I will keep this on my doorstep year-round. After all, my nickname is “Mother Catresa.” I rescue and foster, and I welcome all felines seeking help. As the doormat reads: “Ferals & Familiars Welcome.”
The Salem Sanctuary for Wayward Cats Doormat is personalized with both your name and the year you established your sanctuary (moved into your home). This takes a couple of weeks, so order this quickly!

#2 Celebrate Together Halloween 2-Pack Luna Cat Kitchen Towels

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
Your October kitchen wouldn’t be complete without some sort of cute black cat item. This pair of black cat kitchen towels from Kohl’s looks purrfect hanging from your oven handle. And best of all?
We parents of black cats – I have two, plus a black-and-white tuxedo – know that these felines are amazing on all occasions, so these towels, with the absence of pumpkins and other fall images, can be displayed and used year-round.
#3 Black Cat Soap

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
Why limit yourself to household display decorations when you can bring the Halloween and feline spirit all the way into your shower? I love this handmade Black Cat Soap, available from Etsy seller EarthlyGoodGoods. This Halloween-colored bar is half orange and half a black cat face, and it has a complex, intriguing scent that includes hints of something woodsy, pumpkin, brown sugar, and more. Even the word “Meow!” is carved into the side of the bar!
EarthlyGoodGoods makes other cute soaps in cat designs, including a Peaches & Cream Pretty Kitty Soap, Black Cat & the Harvest Moon Soap, Pretty Kitty Blues Grumpy Cat Soap, and more.
#4 Pumpkin and Cat Bubble-Light Night Light

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
This adorable light looks so festive plugged into my bedroom wall, with a grinning jack o’lantern topped by a Halloween black cat with an arched back.
The bubbling action and light cast a semi-spooky glow for bedtime, and though my cats need no help with night vision, we humans could use it. This night light is available at The Vermont Country Store, where I often shop for seasonal, festive things for my house.
#5 Halloween Cat Bookmarks

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
I have been crazy about this five-pack of wooden bookmarks since I opened the package from Amazon. Each bookmark, about 1 inch wide and 5 inches long, is topped by a black cat head.
Underneath the cat topper is a different painted Halloween scene, including a ghost with a crescent moon, a mummy wrap, a haunted house, bats and jack o’lanterns on a bright orange background, and a vampire cloak. If you’re a bookworm like me, these bookmarks will make reading even more fun.
#6 Glitzhome Halloween Wooden Cat Nutcracker with Pumpkin Ornament

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
This tall, adorable nutcracker with a Halloween cat twist towers over my living room from the top of a wall unit like a spooky guard.
This nutcracker, which is 18.5 inches tall, depicts a black cartoon cat in a festive black, orange, and white suit, along with boots and a witchy hat. The cat carries a stick topped by a candy corn-shaped piece in one hand and a jack-o’-lantern in the other hand. You can get this nutcracker, which comes with a cute wooden vintage jack o’lantern tree ornament, from Home Shopping Network (HSN.)
#7 Halloween Garden Yard Black Cat Stakes

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
These two metal black cats atop stakes push right into your lawn. One cat is playing with a jack o’lantern, and the other is walking on its hind legs while carrying a trick-or-treat bucket and bag.
Announce your love for cats to your neighborhood with these frolicking felines from Amazon!
#8 Tailtastic Halloween Cat Scratcher House

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
This cardboard haunted house is so easy to assemble; you just unfold it from the box, bend along the seams, and tuck in the tabs. Voila! A mini Halloween house for cats, with a cardboard scratching pad as the floor and a little baggie of catnip to sprinkle on it. This haunted house comes in two different designs, one in orange and one in purple.
Just a heads-up that the product, sold on Amazon, says it accommodates cats up to 15 pounds, but it’s pretty petite and a larger cat may not be comfortable squeezing in there. I have a litter of foster kittens in my house, though, who love this house, and it’s roomy for them.
#9 The Cheshire Cat Halloween Cat-o-Lantern

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
These plastic lanterns were so cute that I bought two of them: one in orange and one in black. They are plastic pumpkins with carved faces showing a devilish Cheshire Cat grin and removable lids.
They each come with a battery-operated tea light that flickers. The Cat-o-Lantern, when the light is lit, casts a spooky shadow over the room and really gets you in the mood for Halloween! They come in orange, black, and purple, and a few different sizes and styles, from Etsy seller EnceGaming.
#10 “My Cat Is My Boo” Shirt

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
I just had to order this shirt with a ghostly cartoon cat on a bright Halloween orange background with the true and clever phrase: “My Cat Is My Boo.” Well, of course our cats are our “boos” – and I want to show that off by wearing this festive shirt!
I got the standard orange T-shirt, but there are many more options. The “My Cat Is My Boo” sentiment is expressed on several styles and colors of both T-shirt and sweatshirts at IHeartCats, a website that sells cat merchandise with a wonderful mission: The company donates meals to homeless cats and advocates for adoption. So celebrate your “Boo” for a good cause!
#11 GMASON Friday the 13th Pop Tent Cat Toy

Kellie Gormly / Cats.com
As a horror movie buff who actually has visited the “Camp Crystal Lake” filming site for the original Friday the 13th movie in New Jersey, I thought this gift was purrfect for the cats of a scary film buff. And this is the season for scary movies!
Available at PetSmart, the GMASON Friday the 13th Pop Tent Cat Toy – which has the look of a wooden cabin, splattered with red – has a plush catnip hockey mask toy hanging, so your cat can take a swing at Jason, the killer in the ‘80s slasher series.
