Finn the cat was hiking in the evergreens with his human parents when he stopped, looking like he was going to take a drink of water. Instead, he climbed in and sat right down! This was the start of him absolutely loving the water.
Now, he enjoys swimming, riding on boats, and more.
Meeting Finn for the first time
Finn’s parents wanted a pet for some time before adopting him. While his mom had grown up with cats, his dad was very allergic, and they worried about bringing one into the home.
She found a breed known for being hypoallergenic, and the rest was history! Finn is a flame point Siberian cat. While many people with allergies still have allergic reactions around hypoallergenic breeds, Finn was a great match for this couple.
Finn’s dad became a total cat dad, and both of his parents adore him. They say that they’ve poured all of their love into him since his adoption. He’s funny, intelligent, and has changed their lives for the better with his unique personality.
Learning to love water
The first time he climbed into a body of water, Finn and his parents were hiking in the evergreens. Finn sat down and stayed in the water for at least ten minutes before his parents got him out to continue with their hike. At the time, they thought it was a fluke and wouldn’t happen again. After all, cats aren’t known for their love of water.
Finn had other plans. Once he got a small taste, his love of water was cemented. This opened the door for his parents to bring him on even more fun, water-related activities. It seems Finn is a truly fearless adventure cat.
A unique purrsonality
Climbing into the water isn’t the only surprising or mischievous thing Finn has done. On his very first day with his parents, he explored the entire car.
He’s also been known to get into cupboards so often that his parents had to buy child locks. Otherwise, they would walk into the kitchen and Finn would have everything from the cupboard sprawled out on the floor. While he was in search of treats, he’d pull out everything in sight.
Finn also loves to climb trees, perches on the stair banister which has a 20 foot drop, and has a spicy personality!
Spicy and sweet
Like many cats, Finn can be cuddly and sweet, but only on his terms. For instance, when he wants his mom to wake up in the morning, he lays on her head.
He loves hanging out on his leash on the front porch, where he greets everyone who passes, behaving like the friendliest of dogs.
While Finn may seem like an unusual cat due to his friendliness, love of water, and adventurous nature, his mom believes that cats are capable of anything. She thinks that our beliefs about them sometimes limit what they can do. We should be open to providing new experiences for our cats and letting them explore new things at their own pace.
